DataCore to OEM Cambex High Availability Failover Software for Fibre Channel SANs

Leading Storage Virtualization Software Company to Offer Cambex Dynamic Path Failover Software to its AIX Customers

WESTBOROUGH, MA – August 11, 2004 – Cambex Corporation (OTCBB: CBEX), a leading supplier of high-availability storage solutions and memory products, today announced that Cambex and DataCore Software have entered into an agreement under which DataCore will distribute Cambex’s Dynamic Path Failover^TM (DPF) software for use with DataCore’s SANsymphony™ and SANmelody™ products to provide high-availability storage solutions in IBM AIX environments.

As part of the agreement, Cambex has enhanced its field proven Dynamic Path Failover high-availability software to operate seamlessly with DataCore’s SANsymphony and SANmelody product offerings. Cambex’s DPF software provides full data path redundancy for superior data availability, delivers load balancing capabilities, and operates in active-active mode to deliver up to twice the performance when accessing storage in a storage area network (SAN) environment.

DataCore’s SANsymphony software controls and monitors multi-vendor storage systems with advanced features such as logical volume management, high-speed caching, remote mirroring, automated storage provisioning, point in time snapshots, and asynchronous IP replication. SANmelody provides customers with a new way of deploying fully functional disk servers - a compelling alternative to disk arrays and iSCSI storage - by simply choosing the software features that suit the business requirements and loading them onto general purpose servers to handle the workload.

In addition, Cambex has ported its Dynamic Path Failover software to operate with Fibre Channel host bus adapters from IBM Corporation, including the IBM FC6227, FC6228 and FC6239 HBAs. Customers now have the option of using Cambex’s high performance FibreQuik PC2000 Fibre Channel HBAs or native IBM adapters with DataCore™ products for their high-availability AIX environments.
